Pay bills. Build credit.

Why report your bills?

You pay rent, phone and utilities on time every month. Most of those payments never reach your credit report, so they don’t help your credit. Bill Reporting changes that.

  • Payment history matters most.

It’s the biggest factor in most credit scores, and every on-time bill adds to it.

  • Your bills usually aren’t on your report.

Most landlords, phone carriers and utilities don’t report on-time payments.

  • Your past payments count too.

We add up to 24 months of on-time history for each bill, then every on-time month after that.

  • Who it helps most.

Most helpful if you’re new to credit, rebuilding, or don’t have much credit history yet.

What members say about Solid Credit

  • “Joining Solid Credit was a solid decision. They found something wrong right away and helped fix it. Now, I’m covered all the time and don’t have to worry.”
    Jamie · AR
  • “I love how clean and ad-free Solid Credit is, and that I can see everything on my reports, not just a score. Before Solid Credit, I really had no idea that every bureau could have different information about you, and that it’s super common for things to be inconsistent and even totally inaccurate.”
    Lauren · NJ
  • “I learned my card balance gets reported on the closing date, so even when I pay in full, that’s not what shows up. I also appreciated the nudge to contact one lender about removing a late-payment mark. Little things I never knew were hurting me.”
    Marlene · FL

Common questions

You’ve already done the hard part.
Let it count.

  1. Results vary. Solid Credit does not promise any credit score change. Bill Reporting adds on-time payment history to your credit report; how any score responds depends on your whole credit file.
  2. Rent payment data is used by VantageScore 3.0 and 4.0 and by FICO Scores 9 and 10 when it is present on a credit report. Not all lenders use credit scores that consider rent payments; FICO Score 8 and the FICO Score versions most mortgage lenders use do not.
  3. Eligibility depends on how a bill is paid. Bills paid by credit card, through peer-to-peer apps or wire transfer, or by cash, check, or money order cannot be reported at this time. Each bill needs three qualifying on-time payments from a linked account before it is reported. Rent paid to an individual landlord cannot be reported, and rent is not eligible while you hold a mortgage.
  4. Reporting continues until you turn off a bill or turn off Bill Reporting. When you turn off a bill that is being reported, it is reported as closed, which can affect your credit. A bill with no qualifying payment for 90 days is also reported as closed.
  5. Bank account connections are provided by Plaid. Solid Credit uses transaction data from linked accounts to identify and confirm eligible bill payments.
