Bill Reporting Terms
Effective: July 28, 2026 · Version 1.1
1. What Bill Reporting is
Bill Reporting is a service from Solid Credit, Inc. ("Solid," "we," "us") that lets you add eligible recurring bill payments — rent, utilities (water, gas, electric), and phone — to your credit report with one or more consumer reporting agencies, currently TransUnion, as positive payment history. We report only on-time payments; we never report late payments or delinquencies. Bill Reporting is provided at no additional cost to you. By using Bill Reporting, you agree to these Terms in addition to Solid's Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. These Terms supplement Solid's other customer agreements, including the Client Service Agreement, Website Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, E-Sign Consent, and Account Data Usage Authorization, all of which continue to apply. If these Terms conflict with those agreements, the other agreement controls.
2. How reporting works
When you connect a bank account, we use its transaction history to identify eligible recurring bills. When you approve a bill for reporting, an account (a "tradeline") is created on your credit report(s). For an active bill, we may also report up to 24 months of past payment history. If no payment is detected in a month, no data will be furnished for the account for that month; in later reports, that month will appear as "no data" in the payment history, not as a late or missed payment. If no payment is detected for three consecutive months, the tradeline may be closed automatically, with or without prior notice; it can reopen if payments resume. If you switch providers (for example, a new phone carrier), the old bill's tradeline closes and the new bill must be approved separately. Reporting is subject to applicable consumer reporting agency requirements, including limits on the number and type of bills that may be reported.
3. Your permission — captured per bill
Connecting a bank account never reports anything by itself. Each bill is reported only after you review and approve it, including the confirmations required for that bill type (for example, that rent is for your primary residence, or that a bill isn't already being reported by someone else). When you approve a bill, you authorize Solid to use your connected account's transaction data to verify that bill's payments and to report the bill and its payment history — including up to 24 months of past payments — to one or more consumer reporting agencies.
4. Verifying your identity and your account
Before anything is reported on your behalf, we are required to: verify your identity using commercially acceptable methods (through trusted third-party verification services); confirm that any connected bank account belongs to you and matches your verified identity; and confirm the account is held at an FDIC-insured bank or NCUA-insured credit union. If we cannot complete these verifications, you will not be able to use Bill Reporting.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree that the information and confirmations you provide are true and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you'll keep them current — including telling us if you move, stop being responsible for a bill, or get a mortgage or another reported rent account. If information you attested to is inaccurate, we may correct or remove affected tradelines and may suspend or end your access to Bill Reporting.
6. Stopping reporting
You can stop reporting at any time, for any reason: turn off a single bill or turn off Bill Reporting entirely. When you do, the affected tradeline(s) are reported as closed to the applicable consumer reporting agency and no future payments are reported. Payment history already reported is not deleted, and closed accounts may continue to appear on your credit report. If you re-enroll a bill after turning it off, reporting may resume by reopening the previously closed tradeline or creating a new tradeline.
Disconnecting a bank account is not the same as turning off reporting. If you disconnect or lose access to the bank account used for a reported bill, we may be unable to detect new payments for that bill. If no qualifying payment is detected for three consecutive months, the tradeline is closed for inactivity, but it may reopen under your existing consent if qualifying payments resume.
If your Solid Credit service tier changes to a tier that does not include Bill Reporting, Bill Reporting ends when the tier change takes effect. Returning to an eligible tier will not automatically restart Bill Reporting. You must re-enroll each bill. After re-enrollment, reporting may resume by reopening the previously closed tradeline or creating a new tradeline.
7. Disputes and corrections
If you believe information we reported is inaccurate, contact us at disputes@solidcredit.com or 169 Madison Ave STE 84208, New York, NY 10016 and we will investigate and respond as required by law, correcting or deleting information as warranted. You may also dispute information directly with the applicable consumer reporting agency; we respond to those disputes through the consumer reporting agency's process.
8. Service providers and data sharing
To provide Bill Reporting, we may share information with service providers and partners that help us access bank account data, identify eligible payments, verify identity, prepare and submit credit-reporting files, support the service, and furnish payment history to consumer reporting agencies. Our collection, use, and sharing of your data is described in our Privacy Policy and, for linked account data, our Account Data Usage Authorization.
9. No guarantees; not credit repair
Bill Reporting adds positive payment history to your credit report, but no product can guarantee a credit score increase. Credit scores depend on many factors, different lenders use different scores, and some scoring models may not consider all reported tradelines. Bill Reporting is not a credit repair service and does not remove existing information from your credit report. New tradelines may take a month or more to appear, and reporting may be subject to credit-bureau onboarding requirements.
10. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may update these Terms, and will notify you of material changes before they take effect. We may suspend or discontinue Bill Reporting (in whole or for a specific bill) where verifications fail, information appears inaccurate, or the service is discontinued; in each case affected tradelines are reported as closed, consistent with Section 6.
11. Acceptance
You accept these Terms electronically, consistent with your E-Sign Consent. We record the version you accepted and when.
